Equity Trustees has announced the appointment of Owen Brailsford as the firm's chief risk officer, effective February 2019.
Brailsford is currently the chief risk officer at TelstraSuper, a role he was appointed to in January 2015. Before this, he worked for the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and Prudential PLC and RSA Insurance in the UK and as a risk management advisor at KPMG.
Commenting on his appointment, Equity Trustees managing director, Mick O'Brien, said: "Owen brings 20 years of international experience in risk management and regulatory roles in the superannuation, pensions and insurance industries."
He added: "With trust central to our success, Owen's experience will be integral to ensuring we maintain the highest standards of risk and compliance across all of our services. This is even more important in today's heightened risk environment across all sections of the financial services industry."
A spokesperson for TelstraSuper has confirmed that recruitment is currently underway to find Brailsford's successor.
