Former Sunsuper Exec GM joins MetLife

MetLife Australia has announced the appointment of Michael Mulholland as chief distribution officer, effective July 2019.

Mulholland has over 25 years' experience in group and retail sales roles across the wealth management industry. Most recently, he served as the executive general manager, growth, advice & marketing at Sunsuper, before departing the $66 billion fund in March 2019. He also previously headed up insurance sales at MLC.

Commenting on his appointment, newly-appointed MetLife chief executive officer Richard Nunn said: "Michael has extensive experience in financial services and will bring strong capability to the future management of our distribution channels. At a time of unprecendent change in the market, we need to consolidate and maintain our strong position in established channels such as Group, while looking to find new areas for growth."

Mulholland replaces Chesne Stafford who has been appointed to the newly-created role of chief customer & marketing officer.
