State Super chief investment officer Gary Gabriel has joined VFMC as head of portfolio management.
His first day in the new role was 26 October. He'll report to VFMC chief investment officer Russell Clarke.
Gabriel spent nearly two years with the NSW State Super as chief investment officer. Before that he spent several years with HESTA as GM of portfolio strategy and risk. He also held roles at Mercer, UniSuper, and the Future Fund.
State Super deputy CIO Charles Wu, who was promoted to deputy CIO in early 2019, will take over as acting CIO while a search for a replacement is underway.
