Former RF Capital CIO joins Realindex

Realindex Investments, a systematic equity manager, has announced the appointment of David Walsh to the newly-created role of head of investments.

Walsh, who has over 20 years' experience in investment management, was previously chief investment officer at RF Capital. Before this, he served as head of investments at Acadian Asset Management, managing director and senior portfolio manager at BGI and head of research at SSgA Australia.

In his new, Sydney-based role, Walsh will manage a team of nine investment professionals and report to Realindex chief executive Andrew Francis.

Commenting on the appointment, Francis said: "David will be a fantastic addition to the team and demonstrates our commitment to reinvest back in to the business. It's a great endorsement that we have been able to attract someone of David's calibre".

He added: "The appointment of a Head of Investments will enable us to continue to focus on delivering value to our clients, in addition to increasing our thought leadership contribution and the product development required to underpin the long-term growth of the business."

Walsh joins two recent recruits to the firm: quantitative analyst, Wang Chun Wei, and quantitative developer, Sidney Chow.
