Former Platypus Equities Analyst launches boutique equities firm

Kelli Meagher, an equities analyst and portfolio manager with over 20 years' experience, has launched Australian equities boutique Sage Capital with colleagues Sean Fenton, Peter Moore and James Delaney.

Meagher previously worked with Fenton at AMP Capital, where she spent eight years in senior portfolio management roles specialising in Australian large and small caps. Before that, she managed a US small cap fund at Janus Henderson, and more recently managed Australian equities at Northcape Capital and Platypus Asset Management.

Commenting on their launch of Sage Capital, Fenton said: "The formation of our firm marks the continuation of the investment management style that our team and I have been running over many years, with the dedication and discipline that is required to actively manage equities portfolios in today's complex market environment."

Sage Capital's two initial funds are open for investment - the CC Sage Capital Equity Plus Fund, an Australian equities long/short strategy, and the CC Sage Capital Absolute Return Fund, an absolute return strategy.
