Former Perennial GM Investment Services joins boutique

Eight Investment Partners (8IP), a boutique funds manager, has announced the appointment of industry veteran, Brian Thomas, to the newly-created role of general manager - business/investments, effective 20 February 2018.

Thomas was most recently general manager - investment services at Perennial Value Management, a role he left in December 2017 after 11 years.

Previously, he was the head of channel management and direct sales at Credit Suisse Asset Management and also held various roles at Macquarie Bank, NRMA Financial Services and Capita Financial Group.

Commenting on his appointment at 8IP, principal and CIO, Kerry Series, said: "Brian brings his extensive experience to 8IP which combines investment expertise and knowledge of the business of funds management. This is a significant addition to our team".

Thomas added: "I am very happy to join a boutique funds manager that has a strong investment culture. The track record of out-performance over the past 5 years of their small companies equity products is testament to the focus, experience, and networks of the investment team."
