Former Kapstream Portfolio Manager launches boutique with Perennial

Perennial has announced that it has teamed with Mark Mitchell to form Daintree Capital, a boutique investment management firm specialising in managing fixed income portfolios.

Mitchell will be the director, portfolio manager - credit of the firm, which launched in January 2017, with Perennial taking responsibility for running the back-office and distribution functions of the firm.

Mitchell joins from Kapstream, where he was a portfolio manager and head of credit, a role he left in October 2015. Joining him in his new venture is former Aberdeen senior investment manager, Justin Tyler who will be responsible for Daintree's interest rate decisions.

Together, they are forming a five-person, fixed interest team under the Daintree Capital brand.

Commenting on the new venture, chair of Perennial Investment Management Limited, Anthony Patterson, said: "We look forward to supporting Mark, Justin and the Daintree Capital team in building their business and running a successful portfolio for our investors. Daintree Capital's inaugural portfolio is an absolute return fixed income portfolio and will be available from 30 April 2017.
