Former Goldman Sachs MD joins Perennial Private

Perennial Value Management has appointed former Goldman Sachs/JBWere managing director and equity partner Brendan Lyons as portfolio manager for the newly-launched Perennial Private to Public Opportunities Fund (PPP1).

Lyons has been in the investing arena for more than 25 years, including as co-head of Australian Equities at Goldman Sachs. He has also held institutional equities and equities research roles in Sydney, Melbourne, London, and New York.

"I am excited about joining the Perennial investment team and the launch of our second fund in the fast-evolving private company sector," said Lyons. "Investment in private companies provides investors with a number of advantages including higher risk-adjusted returns and portfolio diversification into a market which is otherwise difficult to access."

Lyons has held several advisory and investment roles since leaving Goldman Sachs, including director and co-CIO for Kelly+Partners Investment Office and CEO for his own corporate advisory firm.
