Former APRA chair will head board for ING Australia

ING Australia has announced Dr John Laker as their new chair.

Laker was the chairman of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) over 11 years, ending in 2014. He also served as RBA assis governor.

He first joined the ING Australia board in January of 2019.

Laker also holds directorships with several other organisations, including the chair of the Banking and Finance Oath, deputy chancellor of the University of Technology Sydney, and is a member of the Experts Panel on the International Monetary Fund.

Laker was appointed an officer of the Order of Australia in 2008.
