Position: Executive Manager, Member and Employer Services

First Super executive manager for member and employer services, Brad Weldon, has stepped back from the business due to health reasons.

Weldon took a leave of absence earlier in the year and confirmed yesterday that he has left the industry superannuation fund. "2020 has and continues to be one of the most challenging years we've had to deal with as individuals and as organisations," he wrote in a post on LinkedIn. "I've had the pleasure of working at First Super with a great team of people since July last year, but unfortunately today is my last day as I am leaving to focus on my health."

Weldon joined First Super in July of 2019. He had previously been GM for member engagement at ESSSuper. He also held partnerships and business development roles at ME Bank, BPM Financial Modelling, and Ernst & Young.

Globally, Weldon was the head of business development for the London Stock Exchange in the UK and Ireland.

"While I am leaving a great industry super fund today, I hope to have the opportunity in the future to serve the members of another industry fund and help make a difference to the retirement outcome of other working Australians."

A spokesperson for First Super said everyone at the organisation wished him well. No decision has yet been made about what is happening with the position.
