First Sentier adds portfolio manager from AMP Capital

First Sentier has hired Heath Palos as a portfolio manager, replacing Kej Somaia who was recently promoted to co-head of multi-asset solutions.

In comments to Financial Standard, a spokesperson for First Sentier said Palos was appointed to "ensure ample capacity and local support" within the organisation.

Palos was responsible for AMP Capital's diversified range of superannuation funds, managing asset allocation and currency exposure. Before that, Palos held a similar role at Macquarie Group.

The spokesperson said that Palos' role is a key one for First Sentier in the new year. "We expect multi-asset to be a major area of growth for our business going forward and are pleased to continue our strategic, long-term investment in the team."
