Defence Bank adds directors

Not-for-profit Defence Bank has appointed two new directors to three-year terms. Pam Rebecca and Group Captain Jeffrey Howard have been named to the board.

Rebecca was most recently the chief of strategy for innovation at World Vision Australia and spent more than 25 years with ANZ including as GM for digital and ANZ Direct, managing the contact centres and digital channels. She also touched direct mortgages and HR during her time with the organisation.

"Pam has a deep understanding of banking and the needs of members and will support out digital strategy to deliver effortless banking for our people," said Defence Bank chair Fran Raymond. "Her time in the not-for-profit sector will support our vision to give back to the communities we serve."

"Defence Bank offers a wonderful opportunity to combine my expertise in both retail banking and digital transformation with my passion and experience in the for-purpose sector," said Rebecca. "The member focus and 'people led technology enabled' strategy really resonate with me, and I am delighted to be joining the Board."

The appointment of Rebecca and Howard follow the retirement of Lieutenant Colonel Craig Madden, who sat on the board for 15 years.
