CPA Australia, one of the world's largest accounting bodies, has announced changes to its board, including the appointment of Peter Wilson as president and chair, effective 1 October 2017.

Wilson is currently chair of the Australian Human Resources Institute Limited and is the honorary chair of both the Australian Network on Disability and the World Federation of People Management Associations. He is also currently a non-executive director at Vision Super, where he chairs its audit risk & compliance committee.

Previously, he held senior executive roles in the Commonwealth and Victorian Treasuries, and group executive roles at ANZ Bank, Amcor Limited, and as CEO of Energy 21.

Joining Wilson at CPA Australia as deputy presidents are VicSuper director, Merran Kelsall and former BP executive, Chin Aik Wong.

CPA Australia has also announced the appointment of six new board members, to sit alongside Kelsall, Aik Wong and Wilson, elected by the member-appointed Representative Council, including: Ric De Santi, Robyn Erskine, Helen Lorigan, Jon Scriven, Rosemary Sinclair and Caroline Spencer.

To assist with business continuity, current directors Jim Dickson and Sharon Portelli will stay on the refreshed board with the nine new directors until 31 December this year.
