CoreLogic hires Genworth underwriting head

CoreLogic has hired risk specialist Eugene Vassiliev as its head of financial services solutions.

Vassiliev comes from Genwroth Australia, where he spent more than 19 years, including several years as head of underwriting risk and business review.

In hew new role, Vassiliev will oversee CoreLogic's financial services solutions development. He'll help the financial services industry look for efficiencies in dealing with risk, operations, and digitisation.

"Lenders are operating in a challenging environment at the moment," said Vassilev. "The increase in hardship assistance and loss mitigation activities in putting upward pressure on expenses and loss provisions.

"Regulatory focus on data quality and security, risk management and climate change readiness has also been heightened."
