CommSec GM to leave after 21 years

CommSec's Brian Phelps is moving on after 21 years in the business. He's been the general manager of broking and markets for the last 10 years, and was the head of investments lending for more than a decade before that.

He shared the news on his LinkedIn account. "I have seen CommSec grow into a strong and valued firm over that time and I have worked with some truly excellent and inspiring people. I will miss them / it all."

Phelps will leave the business in May, and says he is "looking forward to whatever new challenges open up to me from there.

"It has been an invaluable experience and one that holds me in good stead for any future role."

A spokesperson for CBA has confirmed the departure and says they are recruiting for a new GM. "Brian will depart in May and assist with a hand over to new GM."
