Columbia Threadneedle appoints Sydney-based Head of Insto

Columbia Threadneedle Investments has announced the appointment of Glen Giddings as the firm's new Sydney-based head of Institutional, Australia and New Zealand.

In this role, effective 3 September 2018, Giddings will report to Jon Allen, head of distribution, Asia Pacific.

Giddings has 20 years' experience in institutional business roles, having worked for Barclays Global Investors, BlackRock, Ibbotson and, most recently, NAB Asset Management.

Commenting on his appointment, Allen said: "Glen has deep knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand institutional markets and a proven track record in new business development."

Asia Pacific chair, Raymundo Yu, added: "Glen joins us at a timely juncture where his deep institutional experience and market insights will be invaluable in accelerating the growth of our business."
