Citi names compliance chief

Citi Australia has appointed former Tabcorp risk chief Sarah Stewart as its chief country compliance officer for Australia and New Zealand.

"It's pleasing to be able to appoint a business leader with Sarah's significant risk and compliance experience to this critical role," said Citi Australia CEO Mark Luet. "Sarah's diverse experience and leadership skills will be an important asset to Citi Australia."

Before her time with Tabcorp, Stewart was a global compliance leaad for Macquarie Group. She has also held senior roles at Bank of America in London and Société Générale in Hong Kong.

In her new role, Stewart will oversee the bank's compliance function for both institutional and consumer banking. She replaces James Davies, who has been appointed regional chief compliance officer for Citi's institutional business in Hong Kong.
