Citi has confirmed to Industry Moves the retirement of Adam Lavis, head of equities, Australia & New Zealand, after eight years with the firm and 19 years in the industry.

Lavis joined Citi in Hong Kong in 2011 to run Single Stock derivatives trading, before running all equity-linked trading for Pan Asia in 2013. He then moved to Sydney to co-head Australian equites along with Angus Richardson, before taking full responsibility for the business twelve months later.

In an announcement to staff, Citi's head of markets for Australia and New Zealand, Luke Randell, and head of equities for Asia Pacific, Richard Heyes, said: "We would like to thank Adam for his stewardship of the Australian equities business over the last five years. He leaves the business in fantastic shape, having cemented Citi's status in Australia as a top tier franchise and employer of choice."

Lavis will depart Citi at the end of September. Until a replacement has been appointed, Lavis' reports will report directly to Randell.

In other news, Citi has announced the promotion of Samantha Elliott to the role of head of digital sales & marketing for its consumer bank.
