CIO departs legalsuper

Legalsuper has announced the departure of the fund's inaugural chief investment officer, Edward Smith, after four years in the role.

Smith has more than 30 years' experience in financial services, working across funds management, asset/liability management, asset consulting and business development.

He joined legalsuper from Australian Unity, where he was head of portfolio management, and previously held roles at Frontier Investment Consulting, Victorian Funds Management Corporation, Trust Investment Management Limited and Frank Russell Company.

While the search for a permanent successor is underway, legalsuper has appointed Paul Kessell, former Kinetic Super CIO, as the fund's interim CIO.
