SUPERCONCEPTS
Date: July 2021
Position: Chief Executive Officer

SuperConcepts has appointed interim CEO Grant Christensen as its permanent CEO.

Christensen, the organisation's former chief information officer, has been the interim CEO since the beginning of the year. The appointment, however, was not a given said AMP Australia's director of platforms, Edwina Maloney. She said the appointment comes after an "extremely competitive selection process.

"Grant's appointment will mean a seamless transition and no disruption to our customers and, with his extensive experience, Grant will provide stability and entrepreneurship to the SuperConcepts team."

Christensen has been with the organisation for more than 15 years, starting his career with the former Supercorp, the founder of SuperMate, and has experience managing both SMSF administration and technology developments at an executive level.

Christensen said he was excited to take on the new role with more certainty. "Our company has a history and passion not matched by many in our Industry, and I am excited to lead our staff into this next chapter of our growth.

"My focus is on our clients and challenging the complexity and costs of running an SMSF through continued innovation using our unique position as the leading SMSF provider."

Acknowledging recent changes to the SMSF space as well as within SuperConcepts, Maloney said she has absolute confidence that the organisation will thrive under Christensen's leadership. "This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for SuperConcepts and the Board is looking forward to working with Grant to ensure SuperConcepts continues to grow as Australia's largest SMSF provider."

Before moving into the SMSF space, Christensen held global product and technology management roles with a diverse group of companies including the Hong Kong Jockey Club, the Queensland Department of Energy, and the QLD Treasury.
