Charter Hall names ESG head

Charter Hall Group has appointed ex-Lendlead sustainability specialist Andrew Cole as its new group head of ESG.

Cole spent the last five years as the general manager of sustainability with Lendlease where he developed and integrated the sustainability strategy across office, retail, industrial, and retirement living sectors. He spent more than 13 years with Lendlease in business development and sustainability management roles. He started his career as a sustainability coordinator for the NSW Department of Planning.

Outside of his executive roles, Cole is the chair of the Green Building Council of Australia's industry advisory group and chair of the Property Council of Australia's national sustainability roundtable.

Charter Hall managing director and group CEO David Harrison said they were pleased to welcome Cole to the organisation. In his new role, Cole will look after the group's sustainability strategy as well as reporting and community partnerships.

"I look forward to joining the team at Charter Hall, which has made measurable progress in the ESG space in recent years, underpinned by its commitment to climate resilience, responsible business, and strong communities," said Cole.

He will commence in the new role in mid-July.
