Colonial First State (CFS) has appointed Kelly Power as chief executive for CFS Superannuation.

Power joined CFS in 2018 as general manager of product, a role she will retain along with the chief executive duties. She previously was the head of platforms for BT Financial Group.

"Kelly has shown outstanding capability and capacity to lead in the four years she has been with the business," said CFS chair-elect Rob Coombe. "I have been particularly impressed with Kelly's ability to tackle tough and complex issues and oversee the refresh of the business strategy."

Andrew Morgan will join CFS as CFO, Darren McKenzie will become COO, and Shenaz Waples will become chief people officer. The firm is currently recruiting for a chief risk officer.

Other leadership positions include Todd Stevenson as chief customer officer and Bryce Quirk as chief distribution officer.

Coombe said the appointments will help the firm reinforce its capacity and capability ahead of the sale of a 55% interest in CFS by CBA, which is expected to be completed later this year. "This will help us to quickly and successfully complete our transition after the completion of the sale, and transform our business to be the most competitive superannuation and investments business in Australia."
