Centrepoint Alliance has announced to the ASX that chief financial officer, John Cowan, will depart the firm in November 2018.

Cowan has 25 years' experience in the banking and financial services industry. Before joining Centrepoint in January 2015, he was the chief operating officer and acting chief executive officer of Shadforth Financial Group. Prior to this, his roles included: head of financial services for Crowe Horwath Australasia, group executive customer and distribution at MBF, general manager of financial services at IAG, and head of product management at St. George Bank.

Commenting on his departure, Centrepoint's chief executive officer, Angus Benbow said: "Mr Cowan has been a core part of the Executive Team not only as Chief Financial Officer but in a variety of other capacities and his contribution will be missed."

He added: "The restructure of the Centrepoint group will see a change to the functions and responsibilities of his role. The Board of Directors and I wish Mr Cowan every success in his future endeavours."

Centrepoint has engaged an executive recruitment firm to search for Cowan's replacement.
