Date: October 2019
Position: Chair

Bank of Queensland (BOQ) has announced the retirement of chair Roger Davis following the release of BOQ's full-year results, effective October 2019.

Davis was appointed to the BOQ board in August 2008 and has served as chair since May 2013.

Commenting on his service, Davis said: "It has been a privilege and honour to serve as Chairman of the Board over these past six years during which we have seen enormous regulatory, technological and economic change. I believe now is the appropriate time to transition to a new Chairman and continue with the Board renewal process."

His successor will be newly-appointed independent director Patrick Allaway, a 30-year financial services' veteran.

Davis said that he was "delighted" with the board's selection of Allaway and his role to "facilitate BOQ's strategic agenda, including the ongoing digital transformation of the bank."

He added that plans for the appointment of a new managing director & CEO, following the December 2018 departure of Jon Sutton are "very well advanced."
