Position: Chief Risk Officer

Blue Sky Alternative Investments Ltd (Blue Sky) has announced the appointment of Andrew Werro as the firm's permanent chief risk officer.

Blue Sky first announced it was looking to appoint a chief risk officer in May 2018 as part of its new management model, and Werro has been working in the role on an interim basis since August 2018.

Werro, who has 25 years' finance and risk experience across financial services and media organisations, most recently completed consulting assignments for HSBC on a wealth remediation project and Macquarie Bank in preparation for the Banking Royal Commission, Blue Sky said. Prior to this, he spent ten and a half years at Macquarie Bank in a variety of roles including retail banking CFO, business manager for the CEO and COO of the retail bank, and head of the wealth advice remediation team.

Werro's appointment follows that of Elizabeth Walker, who commenced in the role of CFO on 14 January 2019. Blue Sky is still looking to appoint a new managing director.
