BlackRock has announced the appointment of Andrew Landman as head of Australasia, effective June 2019.

Landman is currently BlackRock's Hong Kong-based head of Asia Pacific client business and will return to Sydney once his client business responsibilities have been transitioned to a successor, BlackRock said.

Landman previously led the firm's alternatives distribution business in Sydney, having joined BlackRock in 2012.

As head of Australasia, Landman will continue to report to Geraldine Buckingham, BlackRock's chair and head of Asia Pacific.

Commenting on his appointment, Buckingham said: "Andrew's in-depth local and regional experience, as well as his global connectivity with clients and partners, will help position BlackRock to continue growing its business, while helping clients navigate an increasingly more complex world."

Landman succeeds Dominik Rohe, who has served as BlackRock's Australasian head since 2016 and will be moving to the role of head of the Latin American region.
