Peter Baker, who has been the leader of Mercer Sentinel since late 2014, is stepping back into a part-time role as a partner with the organisation.

Baker joined Mercer as Sentinel leader for the pacific region in 2014 and took on additional duties as head of governance, legal, and risk consulting in 2016. He previously was the managing director for BNP Paribas Securities Services and was head of Asia for State Street Securities Services.

He's been replaced by Tricia Nguyen, who has been part of a planned succession strategy for the last year. "Tricia has already been taking the lead on Sentinel's services behind the scenes as part of Peter's succession planning," said Mercer Institutional Wealth leader Simon Eagleton. "I'm confident this will be a seamless transition."

In his new role, Baker will continue to be deeply involved in Mercer's operations. "Peter remains an integral part of the team," said Eagleton. "[He] will continue to provide his expertise in a part-time capacity."
