After 16 years with AXA Investment Management across Australia and the UK, country head Craig Hurt is set to depart the organisation.

Hurt announced his departure in an email, saying that he will be seeking a new challenge.

"I am immensely grateful to our clients and colleagues that have helped establish AXA IM as both an institutional and wholesale manager in this wonderfully competitive market," he wrote.

Hurt followed up the news with a post on LinkedIn:

"It was an amazing privilege to be given an opportunity as a 34 year old in 2007 to move to a new country (with 1 year old daughter in tow...) and seek to build a business for AXA IM in what was then a market dominated by privately-held boutiques. To have succeeded in establishing AXA IM as a recognised institutional and wholesale manager, specifically in the ESG space, is a testament to amazing colleagues, to incredible clients who have partnered with us and to the many many people who have provided wonderful guidance and mentoring along the way.

"Thank you AXA IM for giving me the opportunity and thank you to the Australian market place for supporting our business.

"I leave AXA IM with many fond memories, am looking forward to taking a good 6-12 month break while I support my amazing wife Sharon as she continues her work in the cochlear implant space and look forward to returning to the industry at some stage in 2021.

"If you are a young investment professional seeking to make a career in this market and would value a free sounding board please feel free to reach out. I'd be happy to help where I can."
