Aware appointment signals future of fund's advice offering

Aware Super has appointed Warwick Gribble as national manager for advice relationships.

Gribble joins the industry fund from BT where he spent more than a dozen years in business development roles across insurance and advice channels. He also spent time with Zurich Financial Services.

In his new role, Gribble will oversee the implementation and development of Aware's independent financial adviser (IFA) offering.

Aware Super head of business development Matt Willis said Gribble's appointment was a milestone for the fund's plan to expand its IFA footprint, a plan that started following the merger of First State Super and WA Super in mid-2020. "Warwick's appointment marks a critical next step in this process. His extensive experience and expertise in the IFA market will help us to further develop our offering and support more Australians to receive professional financial planning advice and experience the benefits of Aware Super's products and services."

Gribble said his adviser experience aligned with Aware's goals. "I've long enjoyed working with financial advisers to help Australians achieve their long-term goals," he said. "To lead such an important initiative for Aware Super and help to open the Fund to the broader IFA market is a great opportunity and challenge for me."
