AvSuper has announced the appointment of Geoff Burgess as one of three employer representative directors on the board of the $2.6 billion fund.
Burgess, a qualified actuary, recently served as an investments officer at the IAG & NRMA Superannuation Plan.
In welcoming him to AvSuper, chair Ben Firkins said that Burgess has "extensive experience in the superannuation industry and demonstrated a long history with representational bodies that serve the super industry and professional organisations."
Firkins added that Burgess' "specific superannuation knowledge and his extensive governance experience will make him a great asset to AvSuper."
Burgess replaces Andrew Cooke who stepped down from the board in March 2019 after six years' service.
