Australian Unity has announced the appointment of George Cupac as head of private markets and institutional clients within the firm's investments business.
Cupac previously spent three years as state manager for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia at FIIG Securities. Before this, he held senior roles in foreign exchange and as a private banker in Europe.
At Australian Unity, he joins fellow new-recruit, Shantini Nair, who has been appointed as head of commercial business.
Geraldine Barlow, Australian Unity's executive general manager of investments said that customer demand, particularly in the area of sustainable investing, is "driving significant growth" for the business, and that the appointments of Cucap and Nair are "key to cementing [the firm's] next phase of growth and further aligning [its] investment capability with the needs of clients and with the broader Australian Unity Group."
