Australian Unity appoints Head of Equity Origination - Property

Australian Unity's Wealth & Capital Markets business has appointed Brad Watson to the newly-created role of head of equity origination - property, reporting to executive general manager - property, Mark Pratt.

In this role, Watson's focus will be on expanding Australian Unity's investor network in the private and institutional markets, both domestic and offshore, and new product development, the firm said.

Before joining Australian Unity, Watson spent four years as head of distribution for Centuria Capital Group's unlisted property funds division. Previously, he held funds management roles at Macquarie Group, Citigroup and AXA, as well as business development roles at 360 Capital Property Group and SCA Property Group.

Pratt said that Watson's appointment will help to drive the firm's growth, "particularly in the mortgages area" as well as the firm's "expanding presence in the healthcare and social infrastructure sectors."

A spokesperson for Centuria Capital confirmed that Watson has been replaced by distribution managers, Julia Desimone and Dave Brownett.
