Australian Ethical appointment brings board to 50% female

Australian Ethical Investment has announced that Julie Orr has been appointed as a non-executive director on its board, effective February 2018.

Orr is currently the group GM, corporate development at IOOF and previously held the role of GM operations.

Orr has over 25 years' experience in executive roles including as director finance India and Asia Pacific for Standard and Poor’s, head of research for Morningstar, COO at Intech, and senior audit manager at Ernst & Young.

She also has experience in superannuation, investments, financial planning, stockbroking, insurance, acquisitions and business integration, and currently sits on the boards of Ord Minnett and Perennial Value Management.

Commenting on her appointment, Australian Ethical chair, Steve Gibbs, said: “Julie is a highly experienced executive with deep operational and industry expertise and her skillset will support the ongoing growth of our business. The Board looks forward to working with her.”

Orr’s appointment brings the composition of the Australian Ethical Investment board to 50% female.

Gibbs added: “We are proud of the calibre of talented female executives that we have been able to secure at the most senior level of our business."
