Australian Catholic Superannuation and Retirement Fund
AUSTRALIAN CATHOLIC SUPERANNUATION AND RETIREMENT FUND
Date: July 2019
Position: Chair

The Australian Catholic Superannuation and Retirement Fund has announced the election of David Hutton as its new chair, effective July 1.

Hutton has served on the fund's board for the past five and a half years and chairs the remuneration and nominations committee. He will succeed Richard Haddock, who has served as chair since July 2010 and as a director since July 2007, and completes his 12-year maximum term in June.

Commenting on his appointment, Hutton said: "It is a great honour and privilege to be elected to lead Australian Catholic Superannuation".

He added: "The next few years will be challenging, not just for our organisation but for the superannuation sector generally, given likely changes to the governance of funds as a result of the Hayne Royal Commission and other industry and government initiatives...I am confident Australian Catholic Superannuation is well placed to address these challenges."

Hutton has 28 years' experience in senior roles at the Brisbane Catholic Education Office. He was executive director of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Brisbane for 14 years, until his resignation in 2013. He has since served as chair of Mary Aikenhead Education Advisory Council, the Australian Catholic University Queensland Chapter, the Jesuit Communications Board and the Toowoomba Catholic Schools Council.
