Ausbil equities analyst to head ESG at Paradice

Nicholas Varcoe has left Ausbil as an equity analyst and will head up ESG at Paradice Investment Management.

"Varcoe will be working with the Paradice investment teams to drive forward the integration of ESG factors (including climate change and modern slavery) in investment decision-making and company interaction," the organisation said in a statement. "He will also be responsible for ESG related policies, databases, and internal and external reporting."

Varcoe joins the organisation after five years at Ausbil where he developed several ESG-focused funds including the winner of the 2020 Lonsec Sustainable Investment Award.

Paradice MD David Paradice said he was delighted to welcome Varcoe to the organisation. "Nick's arrival is another important step in the inclusion of ESG in our investment decision-making. In addition, Nick's role will include being an advocate for the importance of ESG capabilities with our clients."

Paradice is a signatory to the UN PRI and a member of ESG Research Australia.

Before joining Ausbil in 2016, Varcoe held internships with Macquarie Group and Simmons Partnership. He also spent a year with the Australian Defence Force.
