The ASX has announced the appointment of Gillian Larkins as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective 29 October 2018.

Larkins was most recently CFO of Perpetual, where her role encompassed finance, technology, legal, compliance and risk responsibilities. Prior to her promotion to CFO, she led Perpetual's transformation program.

Before joining Perpetual, Larkins was CFO of Westpac's Institutional Bank and CFO for Citigroup's operations in Australia and New Zealand.

In welcoming her to the ASX, managing director and chief executive, Dominic Stevens, said: "[Larkins] brings a strong track record of financial and strategic business leadership. Her skills and experience will be invaluable as we complete our Stronger Foundations program and pursue new and adjacent revenue opportunities."

Larkins will succeed Ramy Aziz as CFO, who announced in June his intention to retire after more than 18 years with the ASX. Aziz will depart on 28 October 2018.

Perpetual has in turn announced that Chris Green has been appointed as Larkins' successor.
