The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) has announced that its chief financial officer, Ramy Aziz, will retire in September 2018, after 18 years' service, including eight as CFO.

From April 2000 until his appointment as CFO, Aziz was the group financial controller at SFE Corporation (SFE) and continued in this role following the merger of the ASX and SFE in July 2006.

Previously, he was CFO and company secretary of Austrapay Limited, and held several positions at The Chase Manhattan Bank (now known as JP Morgan) covering financial control, financial accounting and management reporting within the wholesale banking division and central finance department.

Commenting on his service, ASX managing director and CEO, Dominic Stevens, said: "Ramy has made a very significant contribution to ASX over many years and has been an important member of my executive team. I have valued his support, and the expertise and sound judgement that he has brought to his role as CFO."

An executive recruitment process is underway to appoint a successor.
