SMSF Association - Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director
DEPARTURE
SMSF ASSOCIATION
Date: May 2017
Position: Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director

The SMSF Association has announced that CEO, Andrea Slattery, will be stepping down from her role in May 2017 in order to focus on new opportunities and "further her professional career as a non-executive director."

Slattery has been the sole CEO of the Association since it was formed in 2003 and was recently appointed as the managing director.

She currently sits on the board of the Association and will continue in this role after her departure.

Slattery is to be replaced by John Maroney, who joins from the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) where he is currently head of capital and solvency.

Commenting on her time with the Association, Slattery said: "Both the growth of our superannuation sector, its leadership in advocating dignified retirement and national prosperity as well as its integrity, are testimony to what has been achieved, making this an ideal time to pass the baton to John for the next growth phase for the SMSF sector and the Association."

Commenting on her departure, Association chair, Andrew Gale, said: "She has brought commitment, enthusiasm, experience and knowledge to the task, and can look back with enormous pride on an enviable record in terms of what she has achieved for the SMSF sector. With this legacy, the Board is delighted that Andrea is continuing as a non-executive director."
