Position: Chief Investment Officer, Multi-Asset Group

AMP Capital has announced the appointment of Debbie Alliston - the firm's former head of multi-asset portfolio management - as chief investment officer for its multi-asset group, effective immediately.

In this role, reporting to AMP Capital global head of public markets Simon Warner, Alliston will have responsibility for the portfolio management, dynamic markets, market solutions and tailored investment solutions teams. She will also continue to have responsibility for portfolio management of the Future Directions and AMP Lifecycle funds.

Alliston replaces Sean Henaghan, who AMP Capital announced in October 2018 would be taking "a long-anticipated 15-month sabbatical" this month. (As part of that announcement, the firm also introduced its new Public Markets business, headed by Warner, which encompasses its Listed Equities, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset Group (MAG) capabilities.)

Commenting on Alliston's appointment, Warner said: "I'm very pleased to announce that Debbie will be leading the Multi-Asset business. Debbie has an excellent understanding of the business and how we can execute our strategic priorities in a dynamic market."

He added that after seven years as head of multi-asset portfolio management, Alliston is "ideally placed" to take on the role.

Before joining AMP Capital, Alliston was an investment director at Apostle Asset Management and previously spent 16 years at BT Financial Group, in a range of roles, including head of investments.
