AMP Capital has announced the appointment of Brett Williams as fund manager for the AMP Capital Diversified Property Fund (ADPF), effective mid-February 2019.

Williams, who commenced his real estate career with AMP and has gained 30 years' experience since, was most recently the fund manager for GPT's Wholesale Shopping Centre Fund. Before this, he served as head of investments at Lend Lease, with responsibility for GPT's shopping centre portfolio. He also served as Lend Lease's deputy chief investment officer, having previously held senior roles with the firm across asset management, valuation, development, acquisitions and investment management.

Commenting on his appointment, AMP Capital head of real estate funds management, Chris Judd, said: "I am very pleased to welcome Brett to the team, whose deep and diverse real estate experience makes him the ideal candidate to drive the fund performance of our $6.3 billion retail, office and industrial portfolio for our clients."

He added that "the next few years will be crucial for ADPF" with the delivery of "key developments such as Quay Quarter Tower in Sydney, Garden City Shopping Centre in Perth and Crossroads Logistics Centre in Sydney's South-West."

Kylie O'Connor will continue to lead ADPF until Williams commences in the role. After a transition period, O'Connor will then commence in her new role, first announced in July 2018, as chief operating officer of AMP Capital's real estate platform.
