Altius appoints Senior Portfolio Analyst from AMP Capital

Altius Asset Management, Australian Unity's cash and fixed interest manager, has appointed Vincent Tang as its senior portfolio analyst.

In this role, Tang will be responsible for supporting the management of Australian Unity's $2 billion cash and fixed interest portfolios as well as helping the team with its quantitative research and modelling.

Commenting on his appointment, Altius chief investment officer Bill Bovingdon said: "Vincent's appointment further augments the cash and fixed interest capability of the team during a period of growth and adds an extra dimension to the skills we bring to the table in the areas of risk management and portfolio construction."

Tang was previously a portfolio analyst for the global fixed income team at AMP Capital and, prior to this, was a quantitative analyst for AMP's clients including superannuation funds, defined benefit schemes and not for profits.

A spokesperson for AMP Capital said that recruitment for Tang's successor is "well progressed, but not yet announced."
