The Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) has announced the departure of head of advocacy Ailsa Goodwin.

Goodwin, who joined AIST in November 2017 in what was then a newly-created role, has moved to AIST-member fund Cbus as a strategic public policy advisor.

In a statement, AIST CEO Eva Scheerlinck thanked Goodwin for her "valuable contribution to AIST's advocacy," adding that "AIST looked forward to working with Ms Goodwin in her new role at Cbus, particularly through her ongoing involvement with the AIST policy committee."

Goodwin has more than a decade of experience working in financial services. Before joining AIST, she worked in various senior management roles at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), where she led teams responsible for the Future of Financial Advice reforms, Stronger Super reforms and reviews of the regulatory settings for life insurance within and outside superannuation.

She is succeeded at AIST by new head of advocacy Melissa Birks.
