AIOFP appoints first female Director to board

The Association of Independently Owned Financial Professionals (AIOFP) has confirmed to Industry Moves that Halle Yilmaz has joined its board as a non-executive director, effective immediately.

Yilmaz is the first female to be appointed to the AIOFP board since its inception in 1998. She is a Melbourne-based financial adviser and has worked in the financial services industry since 1997. Originally from Turkey, Yilmaz moved to Australia in 2000 and has since worked with AXA Australia and AIG.

Commenting on Yilmaz's appointment, AIOFP executive director, Peter Johnson, said: "We are particularly pleased to [appoint] our first female Director Halle Yilmaz after trying to find a willing participant in a very male dominated industry over the years."

Joining Yilmaz on the AIOFP board are fellow new-appointees, Adrian Raftery and Professor Sarath Delpachitra.
