Acadian adds wholesale market sales head

Acadian Asset Management has hired Mark Mukundan to the newly-created role of vice president of product and wholesale markets. A statement from the organisation says that the hire is part of the investment manager's next phase of growth among Australian financial advisers and wholesale investors.

Mukundan comes from Colonial First State where he looked after institutional and retail investment products. Before joining CFS in 2011, Mukundan was a product manager for Macquarie Global Investments.

Acadian's Australian CEO and head of Asia Pacific says they're delighted to have Mukundan in this role. "Mark will help us further grow our business' footprint in the wholesale and intermediated channels in Australia as we bring distribution in this space in-house for the first time."

The sales and client team at Acadian has grown to five people in Australia due to investor demand. "Acadian has been growing consistently over the past few years and is receiving increasing investor interest," said Hair. "With our focus on strong returns for risk, down-side protection and ESG, our strategies are well placed for advisers and other intermediaries and their clients."

Globally, Acadian manages more than $140 billion including $9.5 billion on behalf of Australian and New Zealand investors.
