What got you clicking in 2017.
Despite dire warnings from some of the world's economic think tanks at the beginning of the year, the sky has not yet fallen in and 2017 has proved to be a pretty good year for investors. In more good news, this year Industry Moves reported on 1,426 moves, 849 of which were appointments, with a plethora of newly-created roles and boutique start-ups.
Throughout the year, we had the privilege of conducting 123 Q&As and caught up with some influential women in the industry, including: Escala Partners' Giselle Roux, OneVue's Connie McKeage and Fidelitiy's Alva Devoy. We also shone a light on the entrepreneurs behind the launch of Grow Super, Zuper and Human Super, new boutique super funds that aim to offer members something a little different.
We heard from Industry veterans stepping down after decades at the helm, and kicked off our new emerging leaders series with an enlightening Q&A with a young KPMG professional.

Most clicked move
In October this year, Michael Winchester was appointed as head of investments at First State Super. He had been acting in the role since August 2017, following the departure of Michael Blayney, who left the $84 billion fund to take on a role with BT Investment Management.

Notable mentions: Taking the runner up position, with the second highest clicks for 2017, was the appointment of Christian Super's new CEO Ross Piper, who takes the reins in February 2018. In third place, was the departure of AMP Capital's CIO - global equities and fixed income, Mark Beardow, in March this year.

Third place went to Alastair MacLeod on the launch of Wheelhouse Partners, "a boutique asset manager with a mission to improve investment outcomes for Australian retirees."
