On the back of strong demand in the APAC market, research management software provider – MackeyRMS – is establishing a footprint in Australia.

After observing a gap in the market, and the pressing needs of Australian asset owners and asset managers for efficient research management software, Nathan Walker approached MackeyRMS in the US late last year.

Fast forward to today, the Sydney-based Walker heads up Mackey’s APAC efforts.

Walker says Mackey may have started out as an application for hedge fund managers in 2011 but it has quickly expanded to a system usable by all kinds of asset owners and asset managers.

“MackeyRMS was designed with the modern analyst in mind,” Walker says.

The company is on the hunt for local customer success managers to help with on-boarding and servicing clients, of which a number have already signed on, while Walker continues visiting other markets in Asia.

“Hong Kong and Singapore are growth areas for us,” Walker says. “The Asia hedge fund market is very very active for us right now.”

MackeyRMS founders Chris Mackey and Hoony Youn will be visiting Australia next month and will be hosting a panel discussion into the future of manager research over breakfast on Thursday June 6. Click here for more information.

MackeyRMS is now globally used by firms with over $US2 trillion in assets under management. The system is cloud based and importantly, for investment analysts who are constantly travelling, it offers native mobile application across all devices – Web, iPad, iPhone, and Android.
